Earlier this month Toluna unveiled a new version of its QuickSurveys DIY tool – the first in its TolunaQuick range of offerings. The simple, cheap tool includes a completely free version, with users only paying if they want to distribute their survey among Toluna’s panel of respondents. We spoke to Toluna’s Mark Simon, UK managing director and head of the firm’s global technology practice, about embracing DIY. Why has Toluna decided to embrace the DIY approach?
When Google bought out AdWords, they made proper advertising available to everyone. But the market took a while to recognise that it was a viable form of advertising – in the beginning people thought that it was quite disruptive. By the same token, our tool being simple and easy to use and quick doesn’t necessarily mean it isn’t a proper research tool.
